Mission: To identify new and unique opportunities within the BMS business district, and find and/or create new uses for commercial properties. Focus on our inviting business network with an atmosphere highlighted by our historic architecture, and unique natural assets while cultivating a dynamic and robust small business ecosystem of entrepreneurs and innovators while stewarding public spaces and historic places.
Economic Vitality Committee members are entrepreneurs and linear thinkers who are interested in creating a diverse downtown by encouraging awareness of business opportunities within the Main Street district.

Mission: To create an inviting atmosphere, celebrate historic character, and foster accessible, people-centered public spaces in downtown Brooksville. Enhance the physical and visual assets that set the district apart.
Design team members are visionaries who can look beyond what is and envision what can be. From artists to architects to contractors, people who know how to bring about change are needed.

Promotion Committee members are hosts and lovers of a good party bring ideas and organized minds to make sure it happens! The Promotion Committee markets the district and hosts energetic events that help develop the community.

Economic Vitality 2024 Work Plan includes:
Promote products and services of all Brooksville Main Street District businesses.
Create and maintain district vacancy inventory list with property owner information.
Maintain list of businesses interested in district property.
Create and maintain business directory
Recruit appropriate businesses to vacant properties (connect interested party with property owner).
Communicate information regarding available grants and loan opportunities with BMS district businesses through email campaign, social media, etc.
Maintain Florida Mermaid Trail.
Continue development of TourBVL, adding more properties. (New) Social Media and email campaign with historic photo of property and “now” photos with business highlights.
2024 BMS EVC Goals
Continue working with COB to create a Historic Preservation Board
Continue working with COB for Historic Structure Tax Credit Ordinance
Changes to Jefferson/Broad traffic pattern.
Ribbon Cuttings for all new businesses & recognize anniversaries
BMS business directory and map printed and placed in pole poster signs on Main St.
Build and maintain relationships with COB departments. Cultivate a stellar relationship with PW to assist with streets, landscaping, maintenance, etc.
Create/organize merchant scavenger hunt, passport, Blitz/Passport app.
Build better relationships within the BMS district businesses, continue to nurture relationships and welcome new businesses
Create a Lunch & Learn program for BMS businesses to learn ways to improve their business, marketing techniques, coaching, grant assistance, etc.

Create an inviting, safe and inclusive atmosphere ensuring everyone in our community can access the physical spaces in our district
Celebrate historic character while allowing for compatible development
Foster accessible, people-centric spaces
Connecting local building owners with design resources, experts, and tools
Compile a library of design-focused tools, resources, and best practices that we caneasily share with district stakeholders—making our committee the hub and connector for design-related questions
Present & adopt new Historic design guidelines for the City of Brooksville in conjunction with consultant and BMS (June 2024)
Work on Walking Tour Brochure Grant in conjunction with BMS board, committees and relevant community partners
Mobile Mural events (Spring and Fall)
Beautify Brooksville (March, September)
